Assortment

Hands down: Kloss IS boss

My favorite Vogue cover this season by far - hands down! I definitely doubted Karlie when she was first starting out (couldn't see the hype), and even though she isn't a conventional beauty, her personality and body win. WIN. At just 19 years old, she commands front-and-center. Extra strength? Just look at her pose, her stare, her muscles, her body! This is the epitome of the powerful, strong and independent woman. And that's a beautiful thing. Kudos to Kloss, kudos to women everywhere...

Too Much To Do, Too (Much) Little Time Wasted

Anyone else in college and currently freaking out your, ahem, life???

I know it's higher education and all, but at times, it seems like professors expect us to perform exceptionally well when we have or are involved with so many different things. Maybe I overloaded myself this semester, but I'm currently at 25 hours a week, just with GOING to class and being active with one student organization (minus peak publicity season). Whewwwww!

And I don't even know how I did it, but I had a huge 10 pager due today and I finished it in one gulp last night. Obviously, it wasn't empty of procrastination and frustration, but I did it - so obviously this means, I can perform if I put my mind to do. And I have yet again, ANOTHER (!) paper due tomorrow that I am just getting started on. Yay or nay?

If anyone else is going through this blessed time called COLLEGE, let me know how you manage your way through your crazy lives and/or hectic schedules. I'd love to hear!

I think she captures raw, authentic emotion so well.

The Swiss Alps

I don't like and yet I like Bally's ad campaign this season. At first glance, it seems oddly commercial and just plain ordinary. Models smiling, a cheesy fantasy-like setting, I mean come on now, really???

But then I take a couple of looks back at it. And it's oddly enticing. I mean, as corny as the backdrop can be, doesn't this whole campaign just look refreshing, crisp and warm yet cold at the same time? I think anytime a photograph(s) can make you feel something, then it's effective at achieving whatever it's supposed to do. That to me is real art and beauty.

So even though there's a bit of cheese sprinkled throughout this photograph series, it also evokes a feeling, or at least, some sensation yeah? It makes me want to fly over up north, where everything is more crisp, more elegance, and more refreshing. Thoughts?

Glasses? Tres Chic!

Eniko Mihalik for Vogue Japan. She just KILLS it. Kills it!

It feels like summer...

Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving!

I ate, ate and ate yet again. I feel stuffed. I didn't do any homework. I'm back at school. I feel stuffed. Oh and did I mention, I feel stuffed? I guess this what Turkey day does to you in the States! Meanwhile, prepare for more editorial postings. I love photographs - in case you couldn't have already told : )

I would so wear this...

Black on black on black. Chic as hell.
Am I the only one who thinks wearing an outfit is like creating an editorial master piece?

But seriously kids, stop worrying all the time, go outside and start living your life. The way you want it. DO it.

Miss Karlie Kloss

Vogue Germany. Alexi Lubomirski. Stunning.
Karlie Kloss has really come a long way. And I have to say, this editorial is beautiful! The perfect blend of dark meets mysterious. With her recent success - think, #4 ranking on models.com followed by the likes of Natasha Poly, Freja Beha Erichsen and Lara Stone - as someone who hasn't even turned 20 yet, that is one major accomplishment. Also did I mention that she also got the cover of Vogue Germany as well, which marks her, what, 14th International Vogue cover to date? And also, she walked for Victoria's Secret the other night. As Tyra would probably say, work it girl!

Getting My Life In Check

Here's my awful yet completely necessary to do list:
  • internships
  • homework
  • concert #1
  • concert #2
I feel like I have so much time and yet I don't. This is the life of a stressed out college student. If you have any sympathy, please offer it!

Photo Series: Intimate Gatherings

I love the intimacy and the closeness that these photos project. The first is a new face shot from models.com; the second is a really beautiful darkened-tone photograph of a model at Japan Fashion Week and finally the third is what I think is the epitome of coolness (of course, without the smoking) from fashiongonerogue.com. Enjoy!

Human Nature

Hind Sahli for i-D magazine. And oh my goodness - look at that tree! That model! I love it when photographers pair humans with nature.

Viva La Life

There are times like this where all I do is smile. Even though I'm on less than four hours of sleep a day, I just enjoy every time that I spend doing, breathing and living my life. I'm heavily involved with a music group on campus (the biggest I dare say) and our fall concert is fast approaching! I'm on their publicity team, so I've been (literally) selling my soul to them and publicizing my butt off every day. The time is alot but the work, I think has really been paying off. I feel like we're more of a community, built of musicianship and love. And it's amazing. Which is why these photo series that I found on fashiongonerogue.com (it's an exclusive) was so fitting. They demonstrate the happiness and the joy that each and one of us should and deserve to feel every day, doing the things that we love.

New Faces LOVE

First: Nairoby Matos - her eyes are amazing.

Second: Sterling Clairmont - also ditto on the eyes.

THINGS I am currently obsessed with

Things I am currently obsessed with:
  • boy-slouch denim jacket and black rimmed glasses from J.Crew
  • black blazer, stripped tee and hot pink skinny jeans from J.Crew
I never would foresee the day when I would be head-over-heels about J.Crew, but man, they’ve got some great basics (overpriced yes), but they fit you until perfection.

I Would Like To Be English Please

Queen Jourdan Dunn, for i-D

Fashion, Meet Art:

One of my favorite fashion editorials, from fashiongonerogue.com - my goodness, it is just so atheistically pleasing.

1940s New York City

I always feel a nostalgia for the past. The slower pace of life, the glamor, the fun that everyone all had! Not the competitive, "get a job or die" attitude that we all share now - that's everywhere. If I could live in any time era, it would be hands on 1940s New York City without a doubt. There is no other environment as classy, glamorous, exciting, fashionable and dynamic than New York City back then. When else would you ever see people putting an effort into their daily dress? Seeing shows for pure fun and entertainment's sake? Learning to love life and living vivaciously. A part of that is gone now. And as much as I want to go to New York City and live there for the next 15 years of my life, Los Angeles/California is really pulling at my heart strings.
