Style Inspiration
Forgive me for being opinionated, but I can't stand flashy, trashy and inauthentic street style.
We've all seen it and you know what I mean: the people who wear clothes to be photographed, in the latest flashy hit trend, to only be discarded two seasons later. The people who create style blogs more to photo document their lives by purpose rather than happenstance.
That's not the purpose of art or fashion.
So take some real style inspiration guys. Instead of posing like nobody's business, try to put together something classy, timeless and thoughtful.

Too Young:
"About the survey:
We sent an anonymous, online survey to 241 working fashion models based in New York and Los Angeles. 85 responded. Their average age was 26, indicating that our sample skewed towards older, more experienced models. We are working to reach out to younger models at the beginnings of their careers. We chose to focus this survey on women models, because male modeling is a much smaller market, but in the future we would like to survey men. Our respondents have worked in over a dozen countries, and several high-profile supermodels completed the survey.
We found that the majority of models begin their careers very young — most start working before age 16."

Summer Feelings: Verse in Song
I have a petition
she said
to take your hand
and grab your waist tonight
to hold you tight
and kiss you right
that is my petition
baby, tonight
on summer beaches
we stroll hand in hand
waves passing by, our eyes in a glance
the cool dark wine washes us over
and before we know it?
we’re gone.
forever.

Can You Say Finally?
US Vogue finally takes it up a notch. Shooting all of the bigs, including Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn, Craig McDean shows how fashion-art is done.
p.s. Can I say how much I love the backdrops? Fabulous!

Pierre Balmain, Fall/Winter 2012-2013
I'm diggin' this so hard. The classic black and white frames, the smooth jazz background, the way him and her exhibit body movement...
This whole video is just so smooth, suave and classy.

Perspectives From L.A.
Photo credit: LA LA Girlz by Alice Rosati
On L.A:
While New York has always been my to-go city, Los Angeles has slowly, but surely, stolen my heart away. Doesn’t that fit L.A.’s rhythm
so perfectly? It’s like an exponential curve: you don’t fall in love at first, but the more you see and hear it, the quicker you do.
And then it’s home from there
Los Angeles holds a special place in my heart and it’s a place that I would love to retire and settle down into, post-New York.
The palm trees, the ’60s and yet not-so-60s charm of the area, the beaches, the clear crystal blue water, the warm summer nights, the piers,
the music scene, hipsters, raybans, dripping melting icecream, smiles.
New York is home for young people’s souls. But Los Angeles is always there when they move on….

Nina Ricci: Sweet and Dark
Nina Ricci also surprised me this season. While it's often known as delicate, sweet and soft, I was blown away by the dark undertones
of the collection. It was almost as if this show was a fairytale turning backwards and darker by the second. Well done!
Here are my four standout favorites:

Life just depends on how you view it.

Balmain Is Something Else...
I'm absolutely in love with Balmain this season! No offense, but I think the change of head designers did wonders for this house. Now it
actually makes sense to overcharge for beautifully constructed pieces (a joke, a joke, but still).
I like how the "rock and roll" edge is still there, but now Balmain feels much more sophisticated and beautiful. Here are my absolute favorite
